Are you a engaging and resilient Teaching Assistant (TA), looking for a new opportunity within the West London area? If so then please do read on, as we can definitely help you in securing long term, full or part time work.
I am currently seeking both qualified, and unqualified teaching assistants, who wish to work one to one with individual pupils have some form of Special Educational Needs (SEN / EBD). We help provide schools with the right TA, who can work alongside their vulnerable pupils to help them throughout their school life within all aspects of their education. We are particularly keen to hear from people who are experienced with challenging behaviour, as some of our one to one pupils may have some aspect of Social and Emotional Behavioural Disorders (SEBD). It is also worth noting that these children could be within mainstream Primary’s OR Secondary’s.
Each booking is different, and so very specific to the child – of which, you would get full referral information to make sure you are equipped and informed properly to work with them. Schools will require strong disciplinarians, whilst implementing positive reward schemes for good behaviour. The successful candidates will be able to engage with children on the pupils ‘level’, work with their interests, and be resilient with verbal and sometimes physical behaviours towards them.
The general hours of work are 8.30-3.30pm and the pay is between £55 and £80 per day depending on experience. Most positions are long term, and depending on how old the child is if you start with them early on in Primary, it could be that you end up with that pupil throughout their entire school life. These children require not just a Teaching Assistant, but a guide and a mentor too – someone they feel confident and happy with and so the relationship aspect of these positions is very important. Please note, all schools for these positions will be within West London including Harrow, Brent and Ealing.
The ideal candidate will:
• Have experience in working with children with SEN
• Be highly caring and empathetic, and good at building student relationships
• Have a DBS that entitles you to work with children and adults (Reed are happy to provide this if you don’t have one)
• Preferably have a Teaching Assistant qualification but this is only desirable – if you don’t have this then you would need lots of positive, and referenceable experience
These roles are very common and we recruit for them all year round. And so if you are interested but cannot start straight away, do let us know as we quite often have many bookings in the pipeline that you may not yet see advertised.
