Hays Social Care are working with a client in Belfast who really put the people they support at the heart of what they do, providing a range of potentially life-saving services to those affected by homelessness.


Your new role
Reporting to the Drop In Manager, You will work as part of a team to build trust, develop effective relationships and break down barriers with those clients who are reluctant to accept and access support services. You will work with them to draft and implement realistic and achievable support plans and risk assessments, to ensure each client receives a personalised holistic and strength-based package of support that meets their needs. You will continually assess risk and de-escalate incidents, effectively communicate critical incidents and carry a case load of key-working clients and continually review each client's support plan to help reduce the harming effects of the client's presenting needs.


What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this position, you will effortlessly handle a case load and encourage engagement, be a committed and dedicated team member, who is passionate about making a positive difference to the homeless and vulnerably housed. You will have relevant experience - either in homelessness, mental health or relevant transferrable experience, be NISCC registered with a minimum of 6 month's experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs. You will be non-judgemental, be understanding of issues involved in rough sleeping and demonstrate good decision making, especially under pressure. You will have knowledge of support planning and harm reduction, as well as an understanding and commitment of working within the ethos of high tolerance, low threshold. Having a knowledge of housing options and support services and the NIHE application process for homeless and vulnerably housed would be an advantage.
