Drivers Mate

Berry recruitment is delighted to advise that we are recruiting for a Drivers mates based out of Thetford.

Work times will be Tuesday to Saturday with scheduled shifts . 07:00am start each day. There is no given finish time as it will very much depend on deliveries that are due to be made, traffic on the roads etc.. .

Drivers mate role will include calling customers ahead of deliveries to advise of an expected delivery arrival time to ensure they are at home to receive them. You will also be helping the driver to make manual handled deliveries ; deliveries will include large kitchens appliances, large items for the home. You will be expected to assist driver with deliveries, use of PDA - no sleeping in the cab!!

You will be inducted and shown how to lift delivery items, strapping and unloading and loading of the lorry. PPE required will be Safety boots, hi vis and gloves. Hi Vis will be supplied.

Clothes to be worn for work are dark clothes - navy or black please and ABSOLUTELY NO TRACKSUITS. Dark tidy jeans (no holes) are acceptable or dark work trousers/chinos. Dark Blue or black polo shirts/sweatshirts with no logos or writing across them.

For the right candidate this role will be an ongoing position and ultimately could lead to a longer term temp to perm opportunity as more vehicles come on board at the Thetford depot. If you have a drivers licence an opportunity to train as a van driver also is available for long term succession planning.

DBS will be required for this role therefore additional paperwork is needed for completion to apply for this.
