The Document Controller is responsible for enabling the Project/Site Team to meet the project document management policies, protocols and practice through systems such as EDMS and BIW process implementation, to include manual systems.
Carry out routine document management tasks for the site engineering team, e.g. document release and publishing, technical query handling, transmittals, filing, copying and local library management.
EDMS system - 4Projects/Viewpoint
Ensure that the Project Team fully complies with Project Document Control Procedure & Project Document Numbering procedure.
Focal point for all team document management matters either on site of head office based.
Communicate document management issues to the team member's effectively.
Help co-ordinate document management processes.
Assist in the co-ordination of document management policies, protocols and practices.
Keep hard copy document masters locally, in an orderly fashion Project Library or in the archives.
Liaise with all, as appropriate, on items such as passing ownership on when leaving the team.
A commitment to keep up-to-date with new developments regards to site and project plans.
IT Skills required
Computer literate including Word, Excel and Outlook and possible Power Point.
Skills of using an Electronic Document Management System 4Projects/Viewpoint is essential.
Good Time management, communication and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas
The ability to prioritise and plan effectively
Have the ability to work on your own initiative.
