DevOps Engineer mid level - AI start-up, Shoreditch, London to £60k + equity

(SaaS, AWS, Security, Linux/UNIX, SQL/MySQL, NoSQL Databases)

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to help provide support to a live SaaS platform.

SC security clearance or a willingness and ability to undergo SC security clearance checks is essential.

The successful applicant will join an experienced and rapidly growing team of software engineers, machine learning & computer vision experts and data scientists who are working together to solve genuinely relevant and interesting problems in a challenging and high paced startup.

The successful DevOps Engineer will need:

  • a strong background in Linux/Unix server administration
  • BSc/BEng in Maths, Physics, CompSci or similar
  • at least one purpose programming language (eg. Java/Python/C++)
  • at least one scripting language
  • chef/puppet/ansible
  • Interest in security and malware detection
  • a good understanding of WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, HTTPS, DNS
  • experience with traffic capture

Nice-to-have's include:

  • AWS certified DevOps engineer
  • Terraform, Packer and Vault
  • Familiarity with the JVM ecosystem (Java8, Scala, Gradle, Artifactory etc.)
  • Experience designing, operating and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems in a 24x7 production environment
  • Experience with data visualisation tools like Kibana and ElasticSearch
  • Experience in real-time traffic testing (firewalls, port forwarding, etc.)
  • Experience in any of: performance monitoring; security monitoring; deployment/configuration; continuous integration/build servers and cloud resource creation scripts
