emagine is a high-end professional services consultancy and solutions firm specialising in providing business and technology services to the financial services sector, we power progress, solve challenges and deliver real results through tailored high-end consulting services and solutions.
We have created a culture of openness and integrity by building genuine and strong relationships and partnerships, enabling us to be uncompromising in our dedication in delivering the optimal service for our clients. Our commitment is not just towards our clients but we aim to foster a positive and equitable working environment with our consultants and colleagues which stems from our core values: Confident, Dedicated, Responsible, Genuine.
We are looking for a DevOps / AI Automation Engineer to help evolve our engineering and operational capabilities from traditional automation towards AI-driven, autonomous decision-making.
The core focus of the role will be on automating decisions and operational processes that are currently handled manually by people. This includes using AI, MLOps and Spec-Driven Development approaches to bring together operational data, incidents, customer information and metrics, enabling systems to make informed decisions and take action with minimal human intervention.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop AI-driven automation to automate operational and business decisions that are currently performed manually.
Apply Spec-Driven Development principles to define rules, specifications and processes that can be interpreted and executed by AI-powered systems.
Build and support MLOps / AI Ops capabilities, bringing together data, metrics, customer information, incidents and operational context to enable autonomous decision-making.
Develop automation for ongoing incidents, customer-impacting events and operational processes, helping systems understand context and determine appropriate actions.
Contribute to the development of an internal AI Centre of Excellence / AI capability, establishing patterns and frameworks for using AI to automate processes across the organisation.
Identify opportunities to automate smaller, repetitive operational decisions and progressively expand automation across the environment.
Work across DevOps, DevSecOps, MLOps and AI engineering to ensure automation is secure, scalable and operationally robust.
Apply existing DevOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructure automation, while helping evolve these capabilities towards more autonomous operations.
Work with engineering and operational teams to understand existing manual processes and translate them into automated, AI-enabled workflows.
Support the implementation of security controls and DevSecOps practices within AI and automation solutions.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience within DevOps, DevSecOps, MLOps, AI Ops or AI-driven automation.
Strong understanding of automation and CI/CD, with the ability to build and improve automated engineering processes.
Experience or strong interest in Spec-Driven Development and using specifications, rules or structured processes to drive automation.
Understanding of how AI/LLMs can be applied to automate decisions and operational processes.
Experience working with operational data, metrics, incidents, customer data or other contextual information to support automated decision-making.
Exposure to MLOps / AI Ops, including managing data, model context, memory, monitoring and operational workflows.
Experience with DevSecOps and security automation is important, particularly where security needs to be incorporated into AI-driven processes.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform is beneficial, although this is not the primary focus of the role.
Comfortable working across traditional DevOps and emerging AI engineering/automation disciplines.
Able to identify manual processes and determine how they can be broken down, specified and automated.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional DevOps role. Core DevOps capabilities such as CI/CD, infrastructure automation and Terraform are already well established.
The opportunity is to help take the organisation to the next stage of automation — using AI, MLOps and Spec-Driven Development to automate decisions, understand operational context and ultimately create more autonomous systems.
You do not need to be an expert across every area. We are particularly interested in people who have some hands-on experience with AI/MLOps/AI Ops or Spec-Driven Development and can apply that knowledge to real-world automation challenges. Strong DevOps/DevSecOps engineers with an interest in moving into AI-driven automation will also be considered.
Working EnvironmentModern multi-cloud environment utilising Azure and AWS.
Collaborative team structure with close interaction across platform, software, data and cloud engineering teams.
Fast-paced, delivery-focused culture with opportunities to influence platform strategy, automation practices and AI-enabled engineering initiatives.
Hybrid working model with 2 days per week in the office.
