Reporting into the Logistics Supervisor

Role purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day organisation of the despatch department to maintain the supply of all orders to meet Business & Customer deadlines while maintaining a high level of presentation on all packages ensuring the most cost efficient mode of transportation.
Accountabilities
1. Ensure safe working practices are followed to comply with company standards and relevant regulatory requirements on Health & Safety.
2. Ensure all finished goods are packed and despatched according to customer requirements.
3. Prepare daily despatch manifests for the UK and any other manifests as required; Select for invoicing all orders that have despatched that day.
4. Organize the loading of the vehicles in the correct order and deal with paperwork once loading is complete ensuring all required information is recorded on POD (Proof of Despatch).
5. Work to meet the CIP targets agreed by the team on housekeeping, fork lift truck daily check sheets, unsalable material and stock accuracy. Plot graphs were required to monitor performance.
6. Release cycle counts as per the agreed schedule, ensure processed correctly and investigate and report on any large variances.
7. Ensure all Training Matrixes are displayed correctly and fully up to date; ensure all training records are updated in line with matrix.
Liaising with others
Despatch coordinators organising and overseeing their daily work schedules.
SDV to ensure documentation is in place and schedule collections based on available capacity and to meet customer expectations.
Freight forwarders, Customer Service agents, Planning teams, Quality teams, Research teams, production supervisors and management.
Major role challenge
To maintain a high standard of service, balancing conflicting priorities and meet the logistic demands of the company.
Knowledge, Skill and experience required
Knowledge of transport regulations.
Dangerous Goods, IMDG (Sea) IATA (Air) and ADR (Road)
Strong abilities to organise self and others.
Understanding of the Company's business systems (i.e. BPCS Inventory Management, ISO 9001, etc).
Must be capable of expressing themselves orally and written with the ability to carry out simple mathematical calculations.
