Design Manager

The successful Design Manager will be responsibility for the people, procedures and processes within the Design Department. Managing, motivating and engage the Team to meet business targets and setting the example by creating a positive and respectful environment within the Team based on the Company Behaviours.

The role will involve:

• Responsibility for the Design Team including daily task allocation and prioritisation
• Responsibility for standard product and Make To Order (MTO) specials, including technical requirements and compliance to standard (including but not limited to PED & PESR & various design codes)
• Liaising with Technical Manager regarding new product development prototypes and launch
• To ensure Design activities are carried out within expected time bound parameters and levels of accuracy
• Responsibility for Design for Manufacture
• Responsibility for department work instructions and procedures - creating, maintaining and training

To be successful in this role of Design Manager we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

• Demonstrable experience in Design disciplines
• A background in Manufacturing Engineering
• Demonstrable supervisory or people management experience
• Organisational skills - personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
• Communication & interpersonal skills - leading the Team, managing diverse personalities and points of view, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others
