A highly sought-after opportunity to work with a premier provider of full turnkey MEPH solutions and who over the years has become known as the go-to specialist for both building services and infrastructure projects.

They hold all specialisms in-house which allows them to provide full control on projects, alleviating the hassle of managing multiple sub-contractors with no scope gaps for their clients to have to navigate between trades, leaving all parties to focus on providing the best end client installation with minimal fuss.

Due to continual growth, we are looking to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established company, who are opening a new office based in the York area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer with industrial experience looking to elevate their career to the next level with an excellent and market-leading business, They are also prepared to consider recent graduates that are looking to start their engineering career. The Duties

  • Managing multiple projects and engage directly with clients to development their design concepts and remits from cradle to grave.
  • Establishing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as the company’s clients.
  • Involved in client and project meetings.
  • Prepare concept plans, briefs for projects as well as regular use of design and drawing software.
  • Review designs and liaise with others within the design team and ensure reports produced support concepts in relation to industry standard best practices.
  • Reporting to lead on progress and project related items.
  • Providing technical support to company electricians and sub-contractors.
  • Producing technical documentation and reports.
  • Creating test procedures.
  • Producing engineering deliverables on time and on budget
  • Identifying and reporting changes to project scope specifications and programme.
  • Ensuring that Design Risk Assessments and Design Logs prepared and monitored.
  • Ensure programme is adhered to in accordance with the contract.
  • Produce discipline specifics for O&M Manuals.

The Requirements

· Proficient in the use of Design packages such as Dialux, Relux, Hevacomp, Amtech

  • Minimum HNC/HND Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering and/or Demonstrable experience working within a similar role.
  • Electrical Design Experience with good knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, guides, and all-round good practice.
  • Knowledge of the LV Distribution systems, lighting and emergency lighting, small power, fire alarms and detection, protection, standby power supplies, earthing.
  • A proven track record of design delivery of Electrical projects
  • Experience on a range of industries and experience with various Electrical packages and general building services installations.
  • An enthusiastic approach with a determination to surpass our clients’ expectations.
  • Experience in producing calculations, analysis reports, schematics, drawings, diagrams, models, specifications, and other related documents.
  • High level of computer (IT) literacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to produce, format and manage Microsoft Office documents (Word & Excel)

  • £45,000 - £55,000 (depending on experience).
