Position Overview:
As a Draughtsman, you will play a crucial role in the design process, translating creative concepts into detailed technical drawings and specifications. Working closely with the design team and craftsmen, you will ensure that pieces are not only aesthetically stunning but also engineered to perfection. From initial sketches to final prototypes, you will be responsible for bringing a vision to life with precision and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers to understand project requirements and design objectives.
  • Develop detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and assembly diagrams using CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Inventor, etc.).
  • Ensure that designs meet quality standards, functional requirements, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and structural analyses to optimize design concepts for stability, durability, and performance.
  • Coordinate with craftsmen and production team to address technical challenges and implement design modifications as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques to enhance design innovation and efficiency.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve design concepts and processes.
  • Uphold company standards for excellence in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance productivity in the design department.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a design engineer, draughtsman, or similar role in a related industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and familiarity with drafting standards and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and construction techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovative design and craftsmanship.
