Deputy Supply Chain Manager

Our client, a leading independent Oil & Gas operator, are currently seeking a Deputy Supply Chain Manager to join their team.

This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday based in Norwich.

The role may require periodic travel to other locations.

The successful candidate will provide an effective and economic service to both Offshore Installations and our clients Onshore Terminals at Bacton & Dimlington.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and ensure his role during their absence.
  • Adopt and implement the Group Supply Chain policies and values.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
  • Reviewing and updating supply chain practices in line with company/Group policies, standards, laws and regulations and oversight of any subsequent changes to the process.
  • Implementing logistic strategies, tracking goods from the origination point to the warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain detailed inventories of materials and supplies located at warehouses.
  • Analysing the supply chain data and solving any issues or putting alternative plans in place.
  • Evaluate and report on KPIs.
  • Negotiating terms and prices with suppliers, monitoring, and assessing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of terms and conditions and contracting strategies.
  • Benchmark and negotiate complex goods and services requests in compliance with Site requirements and QSHE policies.
  • Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible innovations to the process.
  • Manage and motivate a team of supply chain staff.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety standards, supervise the monthly warehouse QHSE meeting.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily workflow and schedule of the department.
  • Manage and motivate a team of supply chain staff (Appraisal, Annual leave etc).
  • Monitor the performance of the supply chain team.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Relationship management skills and active listening.
  • Complex problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning skills.
  • Comfort with leading and training employees.
  • An understanding of Microsoft Office packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strategic planning and thinking, systems analysis and evaluation.
  • Previous Oil & Gas experience would be an advantage.
  • MCIPS desirable.

You will need to demonstrate flexibility in your approach, adherence to Group values and provide attention to detail in your work to proactively find solutions to Operational needs.
