Financial Accountant

Cambridge (flexible hybrid basis)

Salary: £48,000 - £50,000

Reed Finance are recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a large, established organisation and manage Financial Accounts and Treasury.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for the preparation of monthly financial reports, preparation of financial statements and the production of annual accounts. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the external auditors at year-end.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Manage Financial Accounts and Treasury Management.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Manage the organisation’s liquidity position and supervise banking.
  • Fixed asset register.
  • Review journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparation of the monthly VAT return and offering VAT advice.
  • Liaise with internal and external audit, responding to audit queries.
  • Contribute to the development of financial systems and controls.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Experience of financial accounting and audit.
  • Experience dealing with internal & external auditors.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in Excel, with the ability to design and manipulate financial spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
