Reed Finance are currently partnered with a leading charity in the recruitment of a Deputy Finance Director.   Reporting to the CFO this will be pivotal in ensuring the financial health and growth of the organisation, providing expert guidance and fostering a culture of efficiency and excellence.

As Deputy Finance Director Day to Day of the Role will include:

  • Lead the finance team, ensuring effective and efficient operations across all areas.
  • Develop the team to provide optimal support to stakeholders and deliver high-quality financial outputs.
  • Drive financial performance improvements, maximising income, cash flow, and cost optimisation.
  • Deliver a high-quality finance business partnering service, building strong relationships and providing impactful financial insight.
  • Responsible for end-to-end budget and forecast delivery, from target setting to leadership team presentations.
  • Lead on business cases to support the organisation’s development and strategic objectives.
  • Champion financial performance improvements, driving income and cost efficiency.
  • Direct finance business partnering, building relationships, and providing insightful financial analysis.
  • Oversee financial reporting, management accounts, dashboard and KPI reporting to ensure financial performance is understood.
  • Lead annual budget production and robust reforecasts.
  • Manage procurement activities, delivering cost savings and ensuring value for money.
  • Oversee fleet management and office management within the procurement team.
  • Ensure all appropriate financial and Charities Commission regulations are adhered to
  • Take the lead on all tax matters for the organization
  • Provide reporting and analysis to support discussion and decisions at committees and Board meetings

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Strong commercial acumen with solid accounting knowledge.
  • Proficient in business analysis, financial information review, and opportunity identification.
  • Strategic and tactical operation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Forward planning capabilities.
