Position: Depot Operations Controller

For the role of Depot Operations Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that you coordinate the work activities of the warehouse providing operational leadership, focusing on the delivering operational KPI's and Strategy. Manage own team of FLMs to drive a culture of high performance, positive engagement and the highest standards of safety and productivity.Review all aspects of shift performance, identifying areas for improvement, best practice etc and taking responsibility for developing these into CI / change programmes with buy-in of relevant stakeholders for support and specialist knowledge.Ensure all aspects of the operation are aligned to relevant policies, processes, procedures and legislation.
Key Responsibilities in this role will include;
Co-ordination and planning of sufficient resources to deliver operational targets in warehouse consistently in the most efficient way using appropriate industry and company knowledge and tools.
Delivery of Warehouse Key Performance Indicators in line with Budget
Developing and driving continuous improvement and embedding change programmes.
Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures and methods.
Warehouse Health & Safety Compliance
Warehouse Operational Performance and Customer Service
Development of FLM population, using Motiv8 process
Developing a culture of high performance, focus on solutions and continuous improvement
Delivering first class store service
Achievement of budgeted performance KPIs
Support and develop internal Customer Relationships
Support implementations of PI and projects from an operational position (e.g. chill grid, WMS, Click and Collect)
Leadership of team
Development of warehouse FLM team
Provide support in developing and improving under performance in own team.
Absence management of own team
Key skills and experience in this role will include:
Minimum 2 years experience of working at this level within a complex supply chain environment essential
Minimum 5 years warehouse management experience in a unionised environment
Demonstrable experience of managing change
Demonstrable experience of KPI Delivery / target achievement
Demonstrable experience of managing a team / actions within an operational CI programmes and operational projects
Demonstrable ability to influence and lead teams of people
Demonstrable working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and working practices
Working knowledge of RedPrairie desirable
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
University eligibility preferred but not essential if sufficient relevant experience
CAPA and DMAIC desirable
H&S - Managing Safely and IOSH desirable
