An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Dementia Advisor to join Making Space, a not-for-profit care provider to work in the Chesterfield Area, based at our Derbyshire Dementia Support service in Ashover. This is a fixed termcontract ending end of November 2018. In return we offer a competitive salary of £9.46 per hour.

With responsibility for providing advice and support for carers and people living with dementia, you will promote the provision for carers and service users in line with current national objectives. You will train and supervise volunteers and work in partnership with external agencies to promote the befriending service, ensuring it meets the needs of the individual and the locality.
Experience of working with people living with Dementia and facilitating group activities is preferred, along with excellent communication skills and an Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care or the willingness to work towards. The successful post holder will also demonstrate the 'Six Cs’ - care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.
Working hours are 37 per week.
Having your own mode of transport is essential.
The successful candidate must have worked in Dementia or be willing to learn.
