Salary: £27,448.20 per year

Job type: Permanent, Full Time. Monday - Friday, shifts will be varied between 7am-4pm & 9am-6pm.

The Role:

The Plumbing Distribution Company Ltd is a thriving B2B distribution business known for delivering high-quality plumbing products and superior service to our customers. With a strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, we have been serving our merchants for 17 years and with a focus on continuous improvement, our family run business is seeking a dedicated and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team and lead our operations to new heights.

As a Delivery Driver & Warehouse Operative, you'll play a pivotal role in our operations, being responsible for the seamless transportation and delivery of items from our distribution centre to clients or businesses.

Your role will encompass two primary responsibilities:

Delivery Driver Responsibilities;

• Delivering approx. 10 - 15 drops per day on pre routed delivery schedule, averaging around 4-5 actual driving hours per day.
• Assigned your own van to keep clean, tidy, and maintained.
• Safe Transport: Safely load, transport, and deliver items from our warehouse to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery and the secure transportation of goods.
• Order Verification: Review orders before and after delivery to guarantee completeness and accuracy.
• Navigation and Route Optimization: Utilize navigation tools, including Max Optra software, to determine the most efficient and secure routes to delivery points.
• Proof of Delivery: Ensure the collection of customer signatures as proof of successful delivery.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain vehicle safety by completing daily and weekly checks, reporting any incidents or issues promptly, and ensuring compliance with road safety standards.

Warehouse Operative Responsibilities;

• Stock Management: Organize and rotate stock, conduct accurate picking, and packing of goods, ensuring efficient processing of orders.
• Inventory Control: Manage stock administration, keep precise records, and contribute to maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure a clean and organized warehouse environment, facilitating efficient replenishment and operations.
• Documentation and Handling: Maintain paperwork and documents related to stock, deliveries, and inventory accurately.
• Equipment Handling: Safely operate forklifts for the transfer of pallets and assist in unloading deliveries.

Requirements:

• It is crucial for our insurance purposes that candidates are over 30 years of age
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience of driving a 3.5t long wheelbase van
• Experience in delivery driving and warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with navigation tools and software for route optimization.
• Proficiency in handling warehouse equipment, such as forklifts.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Math's and English at GCSE Grade C or 4

Please note that we are based in East Hanningfield (CM3 8EB) and you must be a Driver with permanent access to a car as we are not accessible in any way via public transport!
