Deal Executives are investment professionals, who typically have specialisms in particular industries (e.g. beverages, or fashion) or geographical locations. The firm recruits only applicants with outstanding academic records who are usually multi-lingual. All applicants are required to sit numerical and verbal reasoning tests as part of the hiring process and approximately three in four are rejected on their performance in that test, notwithstanding their prior academic record. All Deal Executives are graduates, and most have an MBA additionally. Prior experience in management consultancy, in another private equity house or within a top-tier investment bank. The individual will provide analytical and functional strategy support to the firm in respect to acquisitions and investments financed by current and future trends managed by the company. They will work closely in the UK team on domestic and international deals to identify creative and pragmatic options against potential market scenarios, developing conclusions, making strategic recommendations and developing plans to implement the agreed strategy from a UK perspective.

Deal Executives are located in both the UK and the US offices and as Lion Capital has a US office on the West Coast some seed staff with experience that is particularly relevant to the deals to be made and managed out of that office will be located there. Their prior experience in the London office culture and practices will assist in promoting Lion Capital’s core practices and values in its expansion to the West Coast of the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial and qualitative analysis related to acquisitions and investments made by the funds managed by Lion Capital LLP
  • Business due diligence and valuation assessment of acquisition / investment targets
  • Extensive financial modeling and analytical work
  • Deal execution and presentation
  • Identification of possible deal opportunities through networking and specialist industry knowledge
  • Management of portfolio company investments

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience at a top tier investment bank, consulting firm, or private equity house

  • MBA and Bachelor of Science in Commerce or Business Administration

  • Highly articulate in written and oral English

  • Excellent Commercial Aptitude

  • Highly numerate with excellent project management skills

  • Experience in providing analytical and functional strategy support to business
