Hays Recruitment in Newcastle are currently working with a local public sector organisation to recruit for a Database Analyst on a permanent basis.

Main Duties

  • Provide specialist technical support and assistance to projects ensuring delivery of non-functional requirements and continual service improvement
  • Be responsible for preparations and support of IT operations solutions and services - physical or virtual
  • Perform a wide spectrum of Database Administration using an enterprise grade RDBMS including SQL Server & Oracle (desirable)
  • Manage and enhance existing database implementations to resolve issues and identify potential problems and trends
  • Review database design and schema changes to migrate schema changes from development to production environments when required
  • Liaise with internal and external user groups
  • Support both the planned activity of Programme and Project Managers to deliver new systems and services by assisting in the design.



What you'll need to succeed

  • A relevant degree or equivalent industry recognised qualification
  • At least 3 years professional experience across a variety of database systems
  • At least 3 years previous technical experience using Microsoft technologies including in depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL
