An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join the esteemed Data Management and Engineering team. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will take charge of managing data resources across various databases, while also contributing to the construction and maintenance of our state-of-the-art data warehouse infrastructure. Collaborating closely with our Business Intelligence and Analytics specialists, this role will be instrumental in crafting insightful reporting tools to empower the organisation with actionable insights and enhanced decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assume ownership of data management processes across multiple databases, leveraging a variety of technologies including SQL and Python for data transformation.
Utilise expertise in SQL and Python to orchestrate seamless data transformations, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely insights to stakeholders.
Serve as a trusted advisor on matters pertaining to data management and analysis, offering guidance and support to colleagues across the organisation.
Champion the development of intuitive dashboards and reports tailored to the diverse needs of our internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

Demonstrable proficiency in cloud-based data technologies, with experience in Microsoft Azure considered desirable.
A comprehensive understanding of data engineering principles, with proven experience in data warehouse management and data ingestion processes.
Proficiency in SQL and Python, coupled with a track record of effectively handling large and complex datasets.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate analytical findings clearly and concisely.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
Previous experience working in dynamic, fast-paced environments, with a proven ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results.

Desirable Skills:

Familiarity with additional tools and technologies such as Salesforce, R, C#, Databricks, and Power BI.
Knowledge of advanced analytical methodologies, including data science and machine learning techniques.
Understanding of data architecture principles and best practices, as well as data governance frameworks and data protection legislation.
Awareness of the educational landscape and a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
