My high-profile utilities client are currently recruiting for a data analyst on an initial 7-month contract with the potential to extend, or possibility to go permanent. Currently the role is remote working, however, one day per week working from the office in Warwick will be required.
Working closely with customers and stakeholders, gather market intelligence and data, undertake analysis and development of modelling tools, to output a detailed understanding of electricity and gas usage within Great Britain.
The Energy Demand team's responsibilities cover a range of activities to model the electricity and gas usage by consumers across Great Britain - each year from now until 2050. The role will require you to get involved in a number of areas but will initially focus on the delivery of a dataset to be used by other teams, for a publication known as the Electricity Ten Year Statement (ETYS). Details as follows:
*Understand the purpose of the Electricity Ten Year Statement data preparation process, the process itself and share that understanding with the Energy Insights & Analysis team for review & update.
*Confirm expectations of delivery, timescales and proposed improvements with customers of ETYS data
*Deliver ETYS data to Electricity system operator and transmission owners, including reactive power and LV gain, by the end of April 2022
*Deliver Building Block information to the data workbook in May 2022.
*Share a draft of the ETYS data with customers two weeks in advance of the final delivery
*Quality Assure the data in advance of the draft.
*Update the SIPOC and Standard Operating Procedure following delivery of the process.
Technical / Specialist Skills and Experience
*Excellent technical and analytical skills, experience in an analytical role is required
*High level of computer literacy: excellent spreadsheet skills to manage large datasets.
*Logical, creative and practical approach to problem solving and ability to structure complex problems
*Excellent data management skills and experience - able to assure data quality
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills
*Ability to communicate key messages clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences
*Experience within the electricity industry would be ideal
*Good excel skills - experienced using pivot tables and excellent translation of data
