Customer Service Representative
Newark, Full Time , Permanent
£45,000-£60,000

Our global client, based in Newark, Nottinghamshire are looking to recruit a Customer Service Representative on a full time, permanent basis. This position leads the end-to-end development of high-value accounts, as well as the share gain for substantial opportunities within the existing customer base, while delivering excellent customer service to encourage repeat business.

THE ROLE

The Customer Service Representative will deal with enquiries for products, tools, and services, as well as looking to target new business, other responsibilities include:

  • Internally responsible for a designated number of customers to prepare quotations, offering basic technical assistance such as features and benefits, and offering alternatives and part number interchange where appropriate.
  • Inform customers about new features and functionalities. Increasing revenue by identifying and developing suggestive/cross selling opportunities.
  • Follow up on enquiries and quotations to ensure the company maximise new opportunities. Proactively build the new business pipeline by following up on market generated leads and literature requests.
  • Co-ordinate actions needed to solve customer QCD (quality, cost, delivery) problems to maintain soundly based business relationships and maximise sales opportunities.
  • Qualify new prospects then manage the handover stage for the Sales Engineer providing support to them through to close. Monitor, report on market and competitor activities.
  • Gather customer feedback and share with the field sales and marketing teams to ensure a focused and dynamic level of customer service and learn about the market.
  • Build professional relationships with customers so that our client becomes their preferred supplier which will include phone, e-mail, customer websites and representing them during customer meetings.
  • Proactively predict customer-buying trends and make contact to create a potential sales opportunity.
THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Customer Service Representative will be able to demonstrate:

  • A Level education or qualified through experience.
  • Customer facing exposure (external sales or customer service) of at least 5 years, covering both direct and aftermarket routes to market.
  • Good numeracy ability, reporting and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends.
  • Highly competent IT Skills, including spreadsheets, Salesforce CRM and the ability to multitask between all systems quickly and efficiently.
  • Exceptional and effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
  • Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to work under pressure and handle and resolve conflict in a calm and positive manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, which project a confident and professional image with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Understanding of the sales process, and a good understanding of forecast planning and production management.
  • Solutions orientated, able to apply critical thinking skills to solve problems.
