Lecturer / Curriculum Leader in Vocational Business

Location:  Newcastle and Stafford
Salary:      £30,000 - £44,000 depending on skills and experience
Hours:      Full-time and Part-time positions available

The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 500 students on higher education programmes. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 2,000 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers. Our Sixth Form provision has a reputation for high academic achievement and excellence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department’s strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring lecturer with a background in delivering Vocational Business and the ability to deliver varied, high quality and imaginative sessions and have a record of good achievement rates.

You will be teaching across a range of units on the T-Level, BTEC Level 2 and 3 curriculum programmes. Topics range from finance, branding, visual merchandising, team building and many others. We are also excited to be delivering another T-Level route focused on Financial Legal Services from September 2024.

Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer who has a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery including to Level 2 and the Level 3 provision in Business. You will have also demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and use this to help them reach their true potential.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Deliver a flexible and innovative curriculum that is responsive to feedback from current learners and anticipates likely changes in demand from future learners. Particular emphasis will be focused on the rapidly growing T-Level Business and Legal Finance provision within the department.
•    To deliver excellent teaching, learning and assessment processes. A proportion of which maybe remote teaching, learning and assessment via appropriate platforms where required.
•    Undertake the day-to-day co-ordination of staff within the course team so that the College can achieve its overall objective of being excellent in all areas.

Required Skills and Experience:

•    Teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS).
•    A proven record of delivering teaching and learning to a consistently high standard.
•    Able to communicate effectively with students and peers.
•    Detailed knowledge and understanding of current teaching practice within the curriculum area.
•    Awareness of the increasing expansion and successful delivery of T-Level Business and Legal Finance provision.
