Credit Controller

Witham / Hybrid working - 3 days office / 2 days from home

£28,000 - £30,000

Reporting to the Senior Credit Controller working as part of a finance team of 6 for a very successful and growing manufacturing company. You would be responsible for managing UK ledger of 150 live accounts with a monthly ledger value around £3m monthly.

  • Chasing outstanding debts by telephone, letter and email
  • Allocation of cash and taking payments over the phone when needed
  • Monthly statement runs
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries
  • Liaise with internal sales department and the customer to resolve efficiently
  • Resolve day to day credit control issues and problem accounts in a timely manner, understanding how and when to escalate these
  • Produce reports on aged debt
  • Credit checking: setting & reviewing limits based on credit assessments
  • Manage the company credit insurance, ensuring credit risk is kept to a minimum
  • Weekly aged debt meeting
  • Escalate potential bad debts

Requirements

  • Have recent experience as a credit controller, minimum 1-2 years experience
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships
  • Excellent customer service
  • Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with customers
  • Strong work ethic
  • Passionate about credit control
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
