Our client is a highly regarded provider of asset finance to SME’s across the UK.

They are currently looking to appoint a senior credit analyst/credit manager on a maternity cover contract (12 months fixed term) to join their risk team.

You will be responsible for assessing transactions, predominantly for wheeled assets, and making recommendations to credit committee for proposals outside of your mandate.

Key responsibilities:

* Underwrite deals within delegated credit authority and to agreed SLA. Decisions will be clearly and concisely articulated with clarity on conditions.
* Provide credit recommendations to more senior underwriters / committees.
* Work with the business to help identify key risks within a deal and structure accordingly to mitigate the risks.
* Attend customer visits where appropriate.
* Assist in preparation of in-life annual reviews for large exposures.
* Challenge processes and procedures to optimise efficiency and effectiveness to support continuous improvement.
* Assist in developing response to feedback received from external audits / internal QA process / asset audits.
* Be available to offer guidance and support to the local Underwriting team.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of commercial underwriting, with a demonstrable understanding of the asset finance sector. You will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial statements, and make sound judgements and recommendations.

The role is hybrid, with the requirement to be in the East Midlands office 1-2 times a week. Support with travel and accommodation may be considered for candidates who live further afield.
