COSHH Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a COSHH specialist to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Oxfordshire area. As the COSHH specialist you will be responsible for carrying out COSHH assessments to a high standard in liaison with the scientists handling chemicals.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the COSHH Consultant will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Carrying out COSHH assessments to a high standard

2. Train the scientists in how to complete COSHH assessments so they are equipped to complete new assessments in the future

3. Update the COSHH and chemical databases for the company and contribute to the establishment of an effective COSHH management system as well as help out with other research safety-related tasks.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the COSHH Consultant we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a scientific field (Life Sciences / Chemistry)

2. Proven industry experience in the COSHH Regulations 2002

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with completing COSHH assessments in a scientific environment or Health and Safety Related role.
