Job Title: Corporate Director

Location: Dorset, United Kingdom (Hybrid Work Arrangement)

Duration: 1-year Contract

Salary: £800/day

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Director to join a local authority in Dorset. We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader with a proven track record in commissioning and transformation within the public sector. This role offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the community and drive positive change across the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction of the local authority, working closely with senior management and elected officials to develop and implement corporate objectives.
  • Drive transformational change initiatives to improve service delivery and efficiency, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and priorities.
  • Oversee the commissioning process, including identifying needs, procuring services, and managing contracts to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to department heads, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the local authority in external partnerships, building strong relationships with stakeholders, government agencies, and community organisations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and governance standards, maintaining transparency and accountability in all activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Corporate Director or similar senior leadership role within a local authority or public sector organisation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading transformational change projects and delivering tangible results in service delivery and performance improvement.
  • Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes, contract management, and procurement practices within the public sector.
  • Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery and organisational culture.
