If you really want to get 'under the skin’ of 10 household name clients, and play a major part in servicing their insurance requirements, then look no further than this hybrid-working role with a prestigious corporate insurance broker in Manchester.

Our client is arguably the top global insurance broker, and it has an enviable client list including many of the world’s most well-known companies.

As a result of an internal promotion, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial / Corporate Account Handler within the company’s prestigious Manchester office. This office is our client’s largest and most successful branch outside of London, and its Corporate Team generates over £12m in commission and fee income per annum. Moreover, the branch had its record year in 2023, surpassing all its targets whilst achieving a 95% client retention rate.

In this varied and fascinating role, you will support Account Directors with the ongoing management of major corporate risks, many with multi-national exposures. And because you will be dealing with a small number of accounts, this will give you the opportunity to truly get to know your clients and develop a deep understanding of their business activities and bespoke insurance requirements. You’ll have exposure to a range of industry sectors, which may include the likes of Retail, Leisure, Construction, Tech’, Real Estate and Transport, to name just a few.

"We are of a size and scale that allows for superb career advancement, and we put an enormous amount of time into our employees’ professional and personal development", says the Branch Director. They went on to tell us how people have progressed from this role into Placement, Operations and Project Manager-style positions, and beyond, both locally and across the globe. As such, career development within this business is only limited by your own ambition.

In the heart of Manchester city centre, you’ll enjoy working in a state of the art "smart office" with the most sophisticated technology and impressive resources. Refreshingly, our client promotes an extremely collaborative working environment, where you will get to know and work with a range of specialists across the business, which will work wonders for your professional and technical development.

It's essential that you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within commercial insurance, encompassing a variety of lines including Property and Liability insurance. Whilst major corporate experience is not essential, ideally, you will have had exposure to some large(ish) commercial clients. Most importantly, you will have the desire to work with sophisticated corporate insurance buyers, where in your fascinating role, "no 2 days will be the same". As this company has such an impressive training and development programme, they will consider talented candidates from either a commercial broking or underwriting background. In fact, they have had a lot of success in training Commercial Underwriters who had the desire to transition into a broking role.

The Branch Director tells us, "our culture is 'spot on’ when it comes to looking after our staff, their wellbeing and mental health." In fact, employee satisfaction surveys are extremely positive in this organisation, with staff saying that they are fully-supported, treated with the utmost respect, and given flexibility, where required.

In this hybrid-working position, you’ll be expected to attend the office circa 3 days a week, although you are certainly welcome there as much as you like!

You’ll be rewarded with a basic salary of between £40K - £50K (Negotiable depending on experience), together with one of the most impressive benefits packages in the market, which includes substantial pension contributions.

If you are interested in working at one of the most impressive brokers on the planet, within one its most successful and vibrant branches, then apply in confidence today.
