Creative agency with big ambitions and a growing client base of national and international brands are expanding.
Copy Editors must demonstrate content editing and copy-editing experience.
As a Copy Editor you will work as part of a small marketing team managing all aspects of digital content for clients.
You will be working within the content and SEO teams, helping to produce a variety of on-brand, customer-focused content across different digital channels.
Key tasks involve:
- Edit and create effective digital content for websites for both B2B and B2C audiences, with high frequency and an excellent attention to detail.
- Subedit content to strict client brand guidelines and to a very high standard.
- Ensure content for clients in regulated industries is well-researched and rigorously supported with trustworthy external references.
- Fact-check content, statistics, sources and quotes to ensure a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure content meets tone of voice requirements, ensuring it is engaging, relevant and authentic for different audiences - from business professionals to online shoppers.
- Capture and curate brand guidelines and client guidelines.
- Make client amends to content, manage content through an editorial workflow and upload final content to websites as required.
- Provide support and guidance to in-house and external writers to ensure continuous improvement to content quality.
- Create writing briefs for in-house writers and external contributors.
- Ability and willingness to write original content as required to a client brief.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in English/History/Media/Journalism or a similar subject.
- Minimum 5 years professional work as an editor, subeditor, production editor or managing editor.
- Flawless grasp of written English and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent research skills, able to translate data and information into engaging, accessible content.
- Flexibility - able to edit copy across different styles and for different audiences.
- Understanding of SEO and its role in creating effective online content.
- Excellent communicator - positive, engaging and able to clearly articulate complex processes clearly and without ambiguity.
