Job Title: Contact Centre Administrator

Location: Sunderland Royal Hospital, Sunderland, SR4 7TP

Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Trust Location: South Tyneside & Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust

About the Trust

Our staff work in lots of different locations and do lots of different things. They look after people at home, in the community and in hospital. They work in local health centres, schools and GP practices as well as our hospitals. We also run lots of specialist services. This means patients come to our hospitals from right across the region.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • First point of contact for patients, GP and Dental staff, resolving or transferring on queries for the Outpatients department.
  • Answering incoming calls, resolve queries from patients, general and dental practice staff and STSFT staff in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Dealing with appointment and referral queries and helping the wider Outpatient Appointments team with scheduling tasks, including booking and rescheduling of appointments.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
  • Microsoft office skills- Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Previous admin/ reception experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Time management skills
