Title: Consumer Product Manager EMEA
Location: Newhaven, UK - Hybrid Working
Reports to: Head of Consumer EMEA

Role Purpose:

As a Consumer Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and building a comprehensive range of LED lamps, solar products, consumer luminaries and portable power stations. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, R&D, compliance, supply chain and sourcing, you will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end timely delivery of the product roadmap and successful commercialization of products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a comprehensive roadmap for the consumer luminaires range.
  • Utilize market insights and consumer understanding to create an innovative and competitive product roadmap.
  • Develop compelling business cases, product specifications, target costs and minimum selling prices for new products.
  • Present new products and ideas to management and EMEA consumer team for approval and launch within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain and update product and cost roadmaps, as well as new product development presentations monthly.
  • Define marketing, commercial, and promotional strategy together with marketing and sales teams.
  • Liaise with the EMEA consumer sales team, providing regular updates on product development and commercialization plans.
  • Conduct frequent supplier, customer, and market visits across Europe and the Far East to identify new ideas, and trends and gather insights.
  • Prepare and analyze product and competition benchmark data.
  • Perform sales performance analysis, identifying opportunities and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor monthly cost-savings against budget, taking proactive measures based on results.
  • Create comprehensive product launch packs and provide necessary briefs to marketing and creative teams.
  • Develop packaging, artwork, and selling sheet/brochure content for marketing and creative teams.
  • Conduct monthly product life cycle, inventory, and range rationalization reviews.

Requirements:
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in other languages is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the European lighting market, including the European consumer (retail) channel. They should also be well-versed in the products distributed through the consumer channel and have a keen awareness of the competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrate a strong commercial acumen and cultivate an innovation-focused mindset to effectively develop products that cater to consumer channels.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Experience in cultivating partnerships with both international and national retail accounts, such as new product listings, range extensions, and promotional initiatives.
  • Prior engagement with international suppliers and business partners, showcasing global collaboration expertise.
  • Ability to process and analyze data, good knowledge of Excel, working with pivot tables.
  • Must be a team player, and a solid problem-solver with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Strong understanding of the consumer buying journey and how to optimize product roadmap to drive revenue growth through the consumer channel.
  • Ability to multi-task, set clear priorities and effective time management.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Bold, courageous, and ambitious with a desire to learn and drive sustainable business growth.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and Asia.
