Band 6 Depot & Clozapine Clinic Nurse

Crawley Assessment & Treatment Service is a lively community mental health team supporting people living with severe and enduring mental illness. We were awarded Sussex Partnership Team of the Month in January 2019, and were awarded Team of the Year 2018 by the Sussex Armed Forces Network.

We are looking for an experienced band 6 Nurse to join our team. The role will be as Depot Clinic Nurse. You will be responsible for the daily management of our clinic, where we administer depot medications and support clients who are prescribed Clozapine.

Our Clinic Nurse is responsible for:

Administering depot injections and managing monitoring processes of people prescribed Clozapine. You will work closely with a Physical Health Support Worker to ensure periodic physical health checks are completed in line with NICE Guidance. You will be required to have an excellent knowledge of mental health conditions anti-psychotic medications and associated side-effects. You must be a highly organised person who is able to quickly adapt to changing needs and manage logistics of the clinic e.g. ordering medications, stock checks, auditing etc. You will have extensive experience in administering depot injections and working autonomously. It would be desirable to be phlebotomy trained but not essential.

We will offer you regular supervision from a senior nurse and we meet daily as a team to ensure you feel supported in your daily working life. We also meet 3 times a week as an MDT to discuss complex cases and make risk management plans. You will be offered monthly supervision and you will be invited to supervise our Physical Health Support Worker. We are passionate about supporting people to progress and will openly discuss how we can support any development or progression goals you have. We will additionally offer you training to become an Armed Forces Champion which will enable you to offer bespoke support to the Armed Forces Community.
