United Utilities are seeking a Commissioning Manager to spearhead a dynamic team, driving the execution of a diverse range of projects. The Commissioning Manager will operate as the subject matter expert (SME) for commissioning, orchestrating the technical direction, strategy and implementation of commissioning processes both internally and within UU’s client network. This role involves providing technical advice, evaluating commissioning outcomes against strategic objectives and key performance indicators, and communicating these findings to stakeholders. Moreover, the Commissioning Manager will be entrusted with the critical task of managing and allocating commissioning resources, including the recruitment of top-tier talent to their own team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers across a portfolio of work
  • Manage and develop commissioning strategy and capability within UU, providing technical expertise for commissioning, planning, strategy and delivery
  • Manage and deploy commissioning resource across a programme of works - including recruitment
  • Report commissioning performance against strategy and KPI to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Own the commissioning risks and constraints across the programme
  • Stakeholder liaison at programme level

Skills & Experience:

To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Chartered or Incorporated professional or demonstrable equivalent level of expertise.
  • Strong technical competence and leadership skills, coupled with high levels of emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to influence as well as direct technical solutions across the whole of UU
  • Experience in leading successful modelling resource teams in a highly technical and commercial environment.
  • Modelling experience needs to be in in the use of Innovyze InfoWorksTM ICM software.
  • Hold a full UK/EU driving licence.
