As a Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of commercial strategy, building strong relationships both internally and externally, and maximising profitability across projects and contracts. You will serve as the liaison between operations and finance, managing commercial responsibilities associated with tenders, pricing, project and contract performance, and working capital management.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop cost estimation models for services tendered, collaborating closely with operations and gaining hands-on knowledge of our offerings.
Review and assess terms and conditions against internal policies, ensuring mitigation of risks and alignment with organisational goals.
Assist the Head of Commercial in creating and delivering presentations to the board for tender submission approval.
Develop, implement, and manage adherence to a pricing policy, facilitating efficient pricing without compromising operational agility.
Create tools and delegation of authority frameworks to ensure suitable margins and proactive sales strategies.
Conduct detailed cost analysis for labour and overhead recovery, contributing to informed pricing decisions.
Collaborate with various departments to maximise margin on projects and tenders won.
Monitor project progress and scope changes, liaising with project managers and clients to issue contractual notices.
Implement group policies and formats for project reviews, supporting contract directors in decision-making processes.
Prepare forecasts for revenue, costs, and cash flow, working closely with finance to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Manage the working capital cycle of contracts and projects, ensuring timely invoicing and efficient cash flow.
Set monthly billing targets and track performance, educating teams on the importance of cash flow management.
Monitor and minimise Work in Progress aging, reallocating cash to maximise investment opportunities.
Submit applications for invoicing approvals to clients, utilising job management software where applicable.
Serve as a trusted business partner, offering support and guidance on commercial matters to internal teams.
Manage subcontractors, from on boarding to payment, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Conduct negotiations with customers for rate reviews and other commercial agreements.
Track and analyse future order book pipeline to assess forecast accuracy and identify growth opportunities.

You will be/have:

Proven experience in commercial management
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to develop and manage pricing strategies.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
