Reporting directly to the General Manager Commercial Relations, the Senior Commercial Manager is part of a team responsible for delivering the tour operator and 3rd party supplier sales through the TUI retail estate.
The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the management of the commercial relationships between the TUI Group and a portfolio of 3rd party suppliers. You will have responsibility for owning and managing performance vs budget. This alongside implementing and driving strategic partnerships with key suppliers ensuring effective sales and marketing plans are produced designed to maximise performance and drive retail growth and profitability.

What you will be doing
The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the management of the TUI Group relationships with a portfolio of 3rd party suppliers. You will own and manage performance vs budget, mitigating risks vs opportunities as they arise on pax and override targets. You will own the 5 year plan for designated suppliers, reporting back to senior management on performance progress at monthly leadership briefings and bi-annual performance / budget reviews with suppliers.
There is a strong need for the Senior Commercial Manager to have a passion for driving sales results and identifying new ways of working and new initiatives to increase our profitability. You will negotiate and protect industry leading commercial terms including overrides, in line with company budgets/targets, and undertake financial analysis and interpret MI to make effective and timely decisions to deliver the sales results and maximise commercial earnings.
You will develop excellent working relationships with suppliers, providing outstanding account management. You will negotiate, agree and implement clearly defined strategic plans for key partners, nationally and regionally. You will sign-off plans developed by your Commercial team and manage strategic imperatives derived from account plans as required. You will ensure RSM commercial plans are in place and support overarching supplier strategic plans. You will liaise with marketing to ensure marketing plans are in place and support commercial priorities.
Key aspects of the role will include the need to provide effective communications on 3rd party supplier products and campaigns. In addition the Senior Commercial Manager would be expected to devise annual retail engagement plans. This will provide market intelligence and competitor feedback to ensure that TUI UK remains competitive at all times, providing RSM regional reporting and attending regional and divisional meetings to cascade messages across the year as appropriate.
In order to increase our retail team knowledge and sell more 3rd supplier holidays the Senior Commercial Manager will develop and sign off training plans with the senior leadership team and alongside suppliers & the TUI training team. You will identify and implement new ways of increasing product knowledge, agreeing educationals across the year and working with the educationals / events team to ensure their success, agreeing ROI with suppliers post training / educationals with appropriate reporting to support.
Managing a team, the Senior Commercial Manager will need to demonstrate effective leadership skills to develop and motivate direct reports with on-going support and monitoring of performance through regular 1-2-1s with each team member. You will agree the team’s objectives within business deadlines, conduct mid and end of year reviews and support your team to develop succinct PDPs according to development needs and aspirations.
