The Commercial Executive will be a key member of the commercial team, reporting into and working alongside the Commercial Manager. The Commercial Executive will create product, focus on increasing profits, analyse data to ensure that Gullivers continue to offer great travel packages,work on the reservations system, build product on the website and be the first link in the Health and Safety process. Driving profitability and value for money will be at the forefront of all you do. Gullivers Sports Travel is experiencing fantastic growth and the work of the Commercial team is key to this. The commercial team are always focused on maximising opportunities for extra revenue and profit and we pride ourselves on getting product on sale quickly and competitively, fuelling our sales teams to sell our great packages to our customers and giving our operations team the opportunity to deliver fantastic events and excellent customer service. We are always looking at ways to offer customers more in an ever-changing market place.
What you'll be doing
You will help to create the product range that the customer sees. You will understand the market and make decisions to ensure Gullivers remain competitive, pricing and yield management will be key to this. After training, you will load product into our website, build product on the reservations system, distribute Health and Safety surveys, as well as providing training on new product to our sales and operations teams.
- Source competitive quotes from preferred suppliers
- Negotiate with suppliers for our customers to get the best product proposition possible
- Create costing sheets and package products
- Manage a busy diary of supplier deadlines
- Load products into the reservations system and website
- Liaise with all relevant departments to share knowledge and training
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and other in-house departments
- Control and assess stock and risk
- Begin the health and safety process
- Contribute to a process of continuous process improvement and evolution of one of the world’s favourite sports travel brands
What we are looking for
A successful Commercial Executive will have an enthusiasm, passion and love of sport and be familiar with and interested in sporting events. You will have the opportunity to work on and experience a wide range of events at Gullivers. You will demonstrate strong attention to detail and an ongoing desire to deliver profitability and a focus on margin creation and protection. You will have the ability to work well individually and as part of a team, both following direction and proactively providing ideas, solutions, and decisions. Enthusiasm and a positive can-do attitude is key.
You will be confident using Excel and able to analyse data, making and presenting decisions off the back of this data to maintain and increase profitability.
Due to the large volume of events and sports that Gullivers work across, organisation and effective time management are crucial to the role. You will be able to manage multiple tasks at the same time, work well under pressure and to deadlines. The Commercial Executive will help in the drive to create a happy working environment with profitability, innovation, and continuous improvement at the core of all we do.
