Have you ever considered setting up your own insurance brokerage but you have been put off by the risks involved with no income in your first year or two of trading?

Resolve Recruitment are working with a dynamic and forward-thinking insurance brokerage who have a solution to this issue thanks to a unique scheme they have in place, allowing execs to set up your own insurance brokerage and earn a salary at the same time!! Read more below.......

Resolve Recruitment are currently seeking ambitious Commercial Account Executives / producers who have become disaffected with corporate life and who are keen to start their own Insurance Broking business.

Our forward-thinking client has launched a unique route into life as an Appointed Representative (AR), for those wishing to prosper as an independent broker within the UK insurance market.

This exceptional opportunity is groundbreaking and it is the answer many account executives have sought for many years, as they have considered whether they could make it as a start-up broker and survive in their early days of trading.

The barriers that have existed for many talented account execs with responsibilities and family commitments to consider have now been removed. Little wonder then that we see it as a game-changer.

To explain more, this is a 22-month programme for which any talented account executive, who believes they have what it takes to build their own brokerage, can apply.

Rather than following the standard route of instantly becoming an Appointed Representative and having to struggle to build a business whilst under covenant, the Account Executive joins our clients brokerage on an employed basis, as a Broking Partner.

This means this is a role for which you can find and place candidates, earning the sort of commission rate you would expect to earn for recruiting into an employed role.

Whilst you are in the Broking Partner role, the account exec can access 22 months of help in getting their business plan, client base and sales and marketing tactics in place and can test the waters of self-employment, to assess whether it would suit.

We are describing this as 'try before you fly’. It is a win-win for both our client and the account exec. You can get their business up and running before actually becoming self-employed and the future AR broker partners are honed, giving them the best possible chance of success once they do become Appointed Representatives.

Minimum requirements for this role:

  • At least 5 years experience in an Account Executive/ Manager role with an insurance broker
  • Evidence that you have won most of the New Business you have gained, not just in a team
  • Qualified, or progressing towards, ACII and ideally already at Cert CII stage

What will the role encompass?

The Appointed Representative Network management team and our clients own direct insurance sales team will together mentor programme entrants. Their support and expertise will help the prospective start-up broker progress to a stage where they are market-ready, after the 22 months has been completed.

On the way, the Broking Partner has to hit set income generation targets and other milestones, proving they have what it takes to become self-sufficient in income generation terms. The sales role that they fulfil will be one with which they are very familiar, if they have been a high-flying account exec.

Achieving the set milestones will also assure our client that the candidate can do more than just 'sell’ and has other abilities required of someone running their own business.

If all targets and milestones are met, the candidate will be offered an Appointed Representative opportunity at the end of the 22 months.

What this means for you.

Quite simply, no other network can offer an account executive this opportunity, because they do not have the direct sales team to make it work. Our client has leveraged its unique selling point as a network in order to create this opportunity and has already attracted its first Broking Partner.

If you have a passion for setting up your own brokerage, please get in touch ASAP to discuss this opportunity in more detail.

This could be a potentially life-changing move that enables you the opportunity of running your own insurance broking business, so please apply today.
