Job Title: Coldstore Operative

Location: Outskirts of Ashford, Kent (you will need your own transport)

Salary: £13.73 per hour / £28,558.40

Hours:

Monday to Friday 2pm - 10pm + 1 in 4 Saturday 8am - 4pm (with day in lieu)

Role Summary:

You will be responsible for incoming and out going goods as well as ensuring production have material for planned production each day.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Working in the cold store which runs at -20 degrees celsius.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles with ride-on pallet trucks
  • Unloading containers with loose cases.
  • Locating and retrieving pallets into and out of the racking using a reach truck.
  • Case handling when re-working stock or picking orders.
  • Checking in receipted goods.
  • Complete picking and loading documents.
  • Using a counterbalance to unload and move pallets.
  • Using the clamp attachment to de-top cases off of pallets.
  • Achieve personal and team KPI's.
  • Ensure and maintain quality of the product.
  • Eliminate non-conformances and strive for a right first-time approach.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Optimise efficiency whilst maintaining and improving standards.
  • Liaise with Engineering on preventative maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to working practices to ensure that the cold store operates to the highest of standards.
  • Comply with all policies, procedures and risk assessments relevant to role and responsibilities.
  • Implement effective corrective actions to address any shortcomings.
  • Please note that this list is not exhaustive and will be subject to workload at the time.

Experience and skills required for this position:

  • Must have a reach truck licence (in-house accepted).
  • Must have a counterbalance licence (in-house accepted).
  • Must drive and have own transport due to location.
  • Ride-on truck experience would be ideal.
  • Previous warehouse and coldstore experience.
  • Have a can do attitude, lead by example and take a hands-on approach.
  • Be proactive in helping other departments find solution to problems.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with your colleagues to ensure efficient team working.
