The Role

You will be responsible for planning, designing, setting up, modifying, optimising and monitoring CNC Machining processes. Identifying and implementing improvements under Safety, Delivery, Quality and Cost whilst working off shift when needed to ensure continuity amongst the team when implementing new processes and procedures. You will prepare for new process introduction including design and procurement of jigs, tooling where necessary and engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues. You will also participate in factory layout changes to facilitate capacity increase or operational improvement and be the go-to person for technical problems/fault finding, giving advice and guidance as needed. And finally you will support training department and process managers to create and maintain work instructions and other training material as needed.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Knowledge of CNC machining essential - Fanuc controls and / or worked on Haas CNC Machines.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Excellent influencing skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/ engineering environment essential.
  • Background in lean manufacturing.

You will have the initiative to approach challenges with enthusiasm and the ability to react to rapid changes in prioritisation whilst maintaining a clear focus on the company objectives. High attention to detail, problem solving and communication skills are a must as is having a proven mechanical aptitude.
