Clear Automotive is a specialist recruitment consultancy in the Accident Repair, Bodyshop and Automotive sector, partnering with organisations across the UK, to fulfil their staffing requirements, whilst representing Automotive professionals to secure permanent careers.

We currently have a Vehicle Technician role available for a local Classic Car Restoration and Manufacturer company, on a permanent basis, to carry out service and maintenance on high quality classic cars.

The Job: Classic Car, Mechanic

• Competent use of diagnostic equipment to perform diagnostic testing and identify faults
• Servicing brakes and mechanical parts of the cars
• Ability to draw upon past experience to troubleshoot current issues
• Conduct servicing and repairs to a classic car brand like no other
• Reporting all issues/faults found.
• Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and on-time
• Follow assignments through to completion, meets deadlines and deliver on promises.
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to meet targets and deadlines Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and demanding environment
• Recommending appropriate repair methods.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
• Experience working in a similar high-volume refurbishment environment preferable.
• The candidate should be confident using all the necessary tools and materials, have experience with or be happy with working in a high-volume modern body shop.

Job Experience: Classic Car, Mechanic

• A first class knowledge of traditional petrol engines, in particular carburettor fuel systems and distributor type ignition systems.
• A first class knowledge of fault finding on traditional vehicles.
• A good knowledge of engine building.
• A general knowledge of traditional electrical, transmission, braking and suspension systems.
• An ability to solve technical problems with good engineering practice.
• An ability to work effectively within a team of four skilled technicians.
• Self-motivated to minimise idle time and keep jobs within estimate.
• A commitment to the highest quality and putting customer satisfaction above all else.
