ROLE INFORMATION:
Rapier Employment are urgently seeking Class 1 and Class 2  Dray Drivers for our client based in Tingley,Wakefield. The shift pattern is Monday-Friday with start times ranging between 04.00-08.00AM.  

These are ongoing positions with a view to temporary-permanent  positions with the client. 

On site you will need to pass  a drug and alcohol test. This will be followed by a Driving and Theory assessment and full training must be completed before commencing the role.  

The training begins on Monday 11th March and is a 2 week  training process. The first week is site/classroom based, followed by a week on the road with a crew gaining real time experience, learning all manual handling techniques and how to safely deliver the kegs as when driving the vehicle as part of a two man crew. 

For this role YOU will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of Tingley, Wakefield,  to have held your class 1 or  2 licence for at least one year and have at least 3-6 months experience driving class 1 or 2 vehicles for our insurance purposes.  

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
£15.75 Monday to Friday (please note rates are PAYE only) 

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
  • Delivery of kegs and beverages to hospitality venues as part of a two person crew.
  • Role requires manual handling and lifting of heavy items.
  • Physical fitness for loading and unloading goods. 
  • Good communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety procedure.
  • Familiarity with routes and navigation in the designated area of operation.
  • Operating a dray or other heavy goods vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment. 
  • Ensuring the proper securing of loads for transportation

YOU WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:
  • Category C or C+E on your licence 
  • You should have held your Class 1 or  class 2 licence for at least 12 months
  • At least 3-6 months class 1 or  2 experience
  • Physically capable of lifting heavy items. 
  • We cannot accept the following endorsement codes on our insurance. DR10’s No CD10’s No IN10’s - NO MORE THAN 6 POINTS on your driving licence. 
  • Valid Digital Tachograph card and CPC qualification
