Civil Liberties Solicitor
Our client is a Legal 500, highly progressive firm offering clear and honest legal advice across a wide range of personal injury and civil litigation matters. For 4 years in a row, it has been featured in The Times 250 Best employers and is consistently growing its offering across Yorkshire and Manchester.
The firm is currently looking to expand its Civil Liberties team which represents clients in civil claims against public authorities and also represent people at inquests. Cases revolve around issues like the Horizon Post Office Scandal, Actions against police, prisons and authorities amongst various other infringements on civil liberties and rights.
Role Responsibilities:
- Representing clients in civil actions from inception to settlement
- Active in business development to ensure the visibility and continued progress of the firm
- Speaking with defendants, clients, counsel and important individuals throughout the entirety of processes
- Handling a full and varied caseload of civil liberty cases that are often highly complex and include severe emotional trauma and distress
Who can be considered for this role?
- Grade A/B level Solicitor or Legal Executive
- Solid experience working on litigative cases and preferably also with legal aid matters
- Understanding of both Police and Criminal Evidence Act and the Human Rights Acts alongside the entire coronial process
- An active interest in developing your own career and being proactive in the development of the practice
