CISCO (CCDP) Solution Architect

Salary £50000 to £55,000 plus 5k car allowance and package

Location home based (will travel to some I.T Offices of the Group and clients )

To work as a liaison among clients and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements in order to help identify business problems and propose solutions.

Home-based working normal core hours. Some out of hours work will be required to maximise sales opportunities. Travelling to and from other Company’s office locations and customer meetings will be required both in and outside of working hours. Occasional overnight stays will be required.

The role is to be responsible for designing solutions that will resolve a customer's business issues, whilst evoking confidence in products and platform and removing all technical objections in the sales cycle. In executing the role the candidate will require a strong understanding of how our technology can resolve business issues, possess a consultative sales approach and understand the importance of team work.

The role will require an experienced individual with excellent communication, listening, presentation and writing skills together with the ability to identify the customer's pain and translate it to selling points.


  • Work with the client in order to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements.

  • Seek to engage additional specialist services (e.g. Systems Engineers, Bid Management) in order to further understand requirements, where a complex requirement is identified.

  • Develop proposals in close collaboration with the designated Account Manager.

  • Seek to establish and provide management for a virtual team to assist with the development of solution scenarios, where dictated by either complexity or scale.

  • Recognise the need for specialist support.

  • Identify all technical objections and work with the client, internal and/or third part representatives in order to find a resolution.

  • Provide a handover of the agreed solution to the Service Delivery, Project Management and/or Provisioning teams so that they can build and deliver the service. This will include a walkthrough of the technical proposition, solution design, service description, implementation notes, third party quotations and contact details.

  • Be vigilant for possible fraudulent activity and if necessary raise a security incident report using the template accessible via the corporate Intranet.

  • Periodically review Security Policies – centrally hosted on the Intranet - to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.

  • Thorough understanding of Cisco CCDP

  • Proven technical skills and competence backed by professional qualifications e.g. Cisco CCDP

  • Clients portfolio and capabilities

  • Understanding of networks and LAN/WAN design

  • Knowledge of firewalling and next generation features

  • Understanding of WiFi design is desirable

  • Understanding of network protocols within an IP environment

  • Understanding of the Sales and Service Delivery cycle within a Service Provider environment

  • Experience of technical consultancy within a Service Provider organisation

  • Tenacious and analytical with an with an attention to detail

  • An outgoing and focused individual with a strong will to solve problems and succeed

  • Strong ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and deliver to demanding timeframes

  • Excellent communication, listening, presentation and writing skills

  • Competent user of relevant Windows software, including Office Suite and Visio
