Statement of Job Purpose
To contribute towards the provision of the Children's Physiotherapy Service, working as a skilled clinician within the Children's Community Team.
-To provide a high quality physiotherapy service (including physio-therapeutic assessment, advice and management) to pre-school and school-age children with diverse neurological presentations, developmental delay and complex physical symptoms in a variety of settings, as appropriate.
-To provide expert advice, support and training to colleagues, carers and other professionals around area of expertise.
-To support junior clinicians and clinical assistants in the delivery of the physiotherapy service.
-To support senior colleagues and the clinical co-coordinator in reviewing and developing the service.
-To work as an autonomous practitioner, managing own caseload of complex clinical cases and working across a variety of settings as appropriate to the role including client's homes, clinics, mainstream and special schools and pre-school settings.
-Provide advice and support to colleagues within the Children's Community team and across the company to support diagnosis and management of complex cases.
-To contribute to policies and documentation relating to clinical area, taking consideration of professional guidelines.
-To attend relevant multi-disciplinary steering groups and meetings in order to contribute professional opinion and play a role in affecting changes/improvements to local provision of services.
-To undertake complex and detailed clinical assessment on children within identified caseload, analysing and interpreting outcomes to identify need and allow appropriate management.
-To formulate comprehensive packages of care and treatment plans, liaising with carers and other professionals to ensure strategies and recommendations are understood and can be implemented.
-To advise, educate and support families as appropriate, to maximise independence and encourage improved outcomes for children and families.
-To be the named lead professional for children who are on your caseload and where it is agreed this is appropriate.
-To write reports as required and as per local and national guidelines.
-To maintain contact with carers and other professionals supporting the child, to ensure effective collaboration to promote client centred joint planning and goal setting.
-To interpret and evaluate information from other members of the Children's Community Team and outside agencies.
As this client is outside scope of IR35 legislations candidates can operate through their own Personal Service Company if they wish to do so. Rates to be negotiated.
