We are pleased to offer this opportunity to join the Learning Disability Service within Child & Family Health Devon, covering North, East and South Devon, based in Exeter. The post holder will provide a specialist service to the Children with Additional Needs (CAN) team and would be expected to carry a caseload of children or young people with a Learning Disability who present with a wide range of emotional and behavioural issues.
Sitting within the team of Learning Disability Nurses and Clinical Psychologists the post holder would also work closely with the wider CFHD team, including colleagues in Social Care , CAMHS, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy. The post-holder would be expected to have good multi-disciplinary working skills to link with all of our partner agencies in Education, Health and Social Care.
The post-holder will be part of a network of a small but supportive group of Learning Disability Nurses working with Children and Adolescents with a Learning Disability covering the County of Devon.
The teams meet regularly to contribute to Devon-wide service developments and to provide opportunity to keep up to-date with Continuing Professional Development.
We are looking for an individual with passion and enthusiasm for providing good quality service to children and young people with a Learning Disability, who can be creative and innovative, who has the personal qualities which enable good multi-professional working with a view to improving outcomes for the young people served by this team.
Working Pattern: 22.5 Hours per week on a Permanent contract
