The Firm
Based in Hertfordshire and north London, our client is a highly successful independent law firm which believes in offering a quality service at affordable cost. With an outstanding level of commitment to serving the local community, including numerous free clinics, participating in Will Aid, and raising money for mental health charities, our client has seen a rapid period of expansion over the last decade.  A collaborative, supportive working environment is encouraged, and fee earners are expected to display integrity, professionalism and determination at all levels. This Lexcel-accredited firm is now looking for an experienced lawyer to join the firm on a short-term basis and take on a busy caseload of predominantly public law children matters. This office is located in north London, easily accessible from Woodside Park tube station (Northern Line).

The Role
It is envisaged that this will be a two to three month assignment dealing with a caseload of children law matters. This includes making applications under the Family Law Act 1996 and Children Act 1989 and familiarity with public law children matters is essential; as is the ability to work with a wide range of different types of clients from varying financial backgrounds. Much of the work requires a good understanding of Legal Aid funding. The firm is committed to promoting excellence and this is a great opportunity to work with some of the country’s leading family lawyers.

The Candidate

You will need a solid background in public law children matters and a good understanding of Legal Aid funding, with excellent client care skills and the ability to explain complex matters in clear, accessible language;
Articulate, numerate, and with the ability to prioritise a busy caseload.
