Chief Technology Officer

The Role

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Technology Officer will oversee all technical aspects and resources of intY for business innovation and growth. Inspire, lead and establish a technological vision for intY and the development of CASCADE.

  • Architect, implement and manage the complete product development cycle of CASCADE
  • Be a Technical Evangelist - create visionary plans, develop, inspire, excite and communicate, continually evolving the company’s strategic technical direction
  • Consistently evaluate CASCADE technical efficiency and driving automation where possible and spearhead projects to increase our market reach and improve our USP
  • Take the initiative in technological thought leadership, innovation and creativity
  • Responsible for supporting, managing and coaching an exceptional DevOps team to build simple, scalable and innovative technology, aka CASCADE
  • Demonstrate credibility and articulate the business value and ROI to a variety of audiences at different levels
  • Serve as the public face of technology for the company, representing intY to partners, vendors and suppliers
  • Responsible for internal and external technology development strategy
  • Identify competitive advantages and key technological trends
  • Promote the company culture and values
  • Support the organisation by articulating and communicating the long term technical roadmap, strengthening the partner’s confidence that the company is leading in the industry
  • Educate the business on cyber security best practice and work towards continuous improvement of security awareness within the company culture
  • Social engagement marketing through social media services, blog posts, etc
  • Responsible for company budget as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Work with all departments to use new technologies to streamline company policies and rules, particularly around Internet usage, security and GDPR, and establish security policies, standards and KPIs across the business
  • Support company-wide R&D initiatives including incorporation of new technologies
  • Coach teams through Agile routines and ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Demo, Retrospective, and Planning - transitioning responsibility to the team over time
  • Develop and direct all networking safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches and protect sensitive internal and external customer information
  • Direct the development and implementation of Disaster Recovery plans
  • Track, analyse and monitor CASCADE performance metrics
  • Oversee all system design and changes in system architecture

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous CTO or Head of Development experience desirable
  • Proven track record of success in positions of senior leadership and influence, including coaching new teams
  • 10+ years’ experience of software development, coding and testing
  • In depth knowledge of GDPR
  • Experience of implementing REST APIs
  • Building a security vision for an organisation and managing the organisation to deliver on that vision
  • In depth understanding of Agile Project Management
  • In depth understanding of container architecture
  • Scrum, Kanban, and Lean Agile experience
  • Experience in planning and implementation of systems releases, retirements and integrations
  • Leading security within an SaaS based organisation
  • Exceptional project management and organization skills
  • Experience in ASP.NET stack (.NET/C#, Javascript/CSS/HTML), React, Docker, Mongo, node.JS
  • Experience with cloud based services (ideally Microsoft Azure)
  • CI/CD (Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment, TDD (Test Driven Design), DDD (Domain driven Design), n-tier (Multitier architecture), Microservices
  • The ability to perform technically as well as manage
  • Experience of building, leading and inspiring a strong effective team
  • Previous work that displays innovation and high-quality engineering
  • Writing security policies for a product/technology led organisation
  • Security within AWS and/or Microsoft Azure
