Chef / Cook

We require an experienced and hands on Chef / Cook to provide an excellent quality dining experience for residents based at one of our Retirement Villages in Northampton. This great opportunity would suit an experienced Chef / Cook who wants to work in an environment which makes a difference to people’s lives everyday.

Location: St Crispin Retirement Village, St Crispin Drive, Duston, Northampton, NN5 4RB

Salary: £8.53 per hour

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

As our new Chef / Cook will be responsible for providing homemade traditional and local variation themed food, creating speciality menus and recipes to offer our residents an excellent choice of meals which provide good nutritional value for our residents. You will also assist with other kitchen duties and ensure HACCP is followed for all food management whilst ensuring the menus are prepared within budget.

You will be a hands on Chef / Cook who is committed to provide the highest standards of hygiene at all times, making sure health and safety standards are adhered to, this may include washing pots, sweeping and mopping the floor, and general cleaning of the kitchen.

To apply for the role Chef / Cook you should have experience of working in a similar environment and be qualified to QFC / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. You must have previous experience of budgeting to ensure meals are costed appropriately, possess high kitchen standards and have a presence at front of house.

Our vision is better lives for older people and our mission is creating sustainable communities that provide homes older people want, lifestyles they can enjoy and care if it’s needed. To deliver our vision and mission we essentially do three things:

·         We support our villages, schemes and our ‘extra-care’ model through fundraising, advocacy and research

Each village or scheme has 5 to 18 social, health and leisure facilities that are accessible to our residents, volunteers and local people representing all age groups living in surrounding communities. Our Charity Shops help fund care and well-being services for older people living at our each of our locations. 

All roles maybe subject to an enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references.
