Catering Manager
Location: Hertfordshire
Length: Temporary, ongoing
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Mon – Fri
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Responsible for the strategic and operational management of the catering service across a large commercial site delivering 24/7 fresh cook catering services to staff and service users
- Manage the quality and hygiene of the food cycle from preparation and presentation through to service delivery
- Management of all Food Safety Management System, HACCP and compliance
- Ensure high quality service is delivered across all catering establishments on 4 sites
- Hold overall responsibility for catering budget management
- Support Chefs with menu planning for specific dietary needs following legislation and guidance from the food standards agency
- ensuring high nutrition values
- Ensure strict Health & Safety and hygiene standards are achieved at all times
- Responsible for sustainability management and ensuring best practice
- Staff management responsibilities covering 70 team members, carrying out appraisals and disciplinaries etc
- Establish and maintain good relationships and effective team working
- Responsible for the management of independent café on site
Essential requirements:
- You must have previously managed a large catering service with direct management of a large team
- You will ideally be a qualified Chef with menu planning experience
- Previous experience within a hospital or large University or similar will be advantageous
