CATEGORY SPECIALIST (F&B) OPPORTUNTIY IN HEMEL HEMEPSTEAD!

Annual Salary: £40k - £45k.
Location: Hemel Hempstead.
Job Type: Full-time

My client is urgently seeking a Category Leader/Specialist to take charge of category management and data analysis within its fast paced and progressive procurement team. This role is pivotal in developing insights into its Food & Beverage (F&B) products, while driving improvement initiatives.

Your success in this role will be heavily based on your strong background in procurement and category management within the FMCG sector, particularly in Food & beverage.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee key procurement and category management data and reporting.
  • Lead the analysis of spend, supplier performance, and internal category data, such as product sales performance.
  • Drive initiatives to challenge the status quo in how the business uses and maintains category data.
  • Develop best-in-class planograms and ensure their implementation across the company.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver category projects and support business objectives.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, offering category expertise, insight, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting for the procurement department, including performance trackers and sales data.
  • Manage and administer documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Category Manager within a procurement & category management environment in the FMCG sector, preferably in Food & Beverage.
  • Strong MS Excel skills (BI skills are advantageous).
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and planning skills.
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to build trusting relationships quickly.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to think strategically.
  • Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
