An award winning business with a global presence is offering an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to join the team and manage contracts retailing to Indirect / Services GNFR spend.
THE ROLE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The key thing is for you to have a good background within Indirect/GNFR procurement and are familiar with Contract Negotiation, Writing and Drafting experience.
Observing the team stakeholder management plans created by the UK Procurement lead for such category, develop and maintain strong and effective internal relationships.
Manage or facilitate the sourcing, selection and associated decision making related to third party supply of goods and services
Ensure the optimum service delivery from external suppliers
Achieve cost effective procurement
Complying with the Terms of Engagement between Procurement and Legal
Negotiate and draft contracts that enable the provision of goods and services
Produce high quality contractual documentation
Manage third party risk
Build and maintain strong and effective external relationships with suppliers as appropriate
Contribute towards the UK and "global" Procurement department goals
Indirect Procurement background (ideally IT / Professional Service)
Outsourcing services a distinct advantage
Contractual risk management bias
Knowledge of sourcing / contracting process and procedures
Contract drafting experience
Knowledge of Procure to Pay process
Effective communication including Good negotiation skills
Influencing to senior management level
Building relationships (internal and external)
In order to be successful in this position you will need to have the ability to look at and adapt Terms and Condition Contracts (typically 60-80 pages long), read and identify the risks and be able to describe these in a non-jargon way to the customers, make recommendations to mitigate these risks and them write up these recommendations into the contract in Legal Terms.
This is a high profile position where you will be exposed to all levels within the business. This position has a heavy emphasis on the contracting side of procurement so you will need to have strong experience in this area. Contract values start from £50k and can rise up to £8m.
